Autonomous truck study predicts major fuel savings

According to a recent report by the US Energy Information Administration, an agency within the US Department of Energy, autonomous technology could deliver fuel economy increases as early as this year. The report also noted that, while autonomous technology increased overall vehicle safety and reduced accidents, increased speed limits could potentially reduce the predicted fuel economy numbers.
